Hello and welcome to Model Eats Manhattan! The vision of this series combines classic food blogging with an intimate behind-the-scenes glimpse of restaurant life and culinary choice. Our team, Sophie, Seraphina Anna & Abby, look forward to sharing their meals with you, as well as the unique stories they find behind each kitchen door. Although Taste Collection is currently a lifestyle boutique and photo studio, we are in the process of expanding into a restaurant as well! In preparation, we’ve begun partnering with our neighborhood venues to co-create positive content for the community we are about to enter!

Our second series feature took place this past week at Claw Daddy’s New York, a Louisiana based feel good seafood restaurant in the LES! As listed on their website: Claw Daddy’s opened in September 2012 and is located in the heart of Lower East Side. We have created a stunning restaurant on Orchard Street, where you can enjoy our fabulous Louisiana Boil and Raw Bar in a bright, contemporary restaurant. We also have a great bar area with an extended selection of craft beer and cocktails.
Claw Daddy’s chef, Norberto Garcia, creates a personalized take on Louisiana style seafood that highlights classic comfort food with casual ambiance.

Q & A with Claw staff:
Q: Who is the most famous customer that has ever walked into Claw?
A: We get a lot of rappers or cast members from shows like Love & Hip Hop. We prefer not to name specific people because we pride ourselves on having a casual restaurant in which they can dine without the pressure of being recognized.
Q: What was the most outrageous request from a customer at Claw?
A: A lot of customers try to order the “insane sauce”, turn bright red, and ask for a refund. But there’s no way we can honor that because with a name like “insane,” you have to know what you’re getting yourself into! It’s made with ghost peppers so the spice level truly lives up to its name.
Q: What’s the weirdest thing on Claw’s menu?
A: The weirdest thing we serve by far is crawfish. They look like little mini lobsters and are such seafood oddities. But they’re also a popular draw to New Yorkers who want to try something so authentic to Louisiana cuisine
