Harlem is still one of my favorite neighborhoods to visit here in NYC. The dining culture here is so upbeat and soulful that can rival Brooklyn on any day. The vast selection of cuisines available for selection is worth a trip to indulge your palette. Immigrant cuisine is the backbone of this community and Cocina Cosuelo is flying the Latin banners high and proud.
Located at 130 Hamilton Place, Chef Karina Garcia and Lalo Rodriguez have been serving up authentic family styled recipes to their patrons who now have made this place a local favorite. What started as a supper club back in 2018 has now officially become a neighborhood staple where everyone knows each other and the comfort of family styled dishes warm both the heart and soul.
The “masa” pancake was simply amazing, this was the best pancake I had tried in my entire life. The batter which was buttery soft complimented the compote and syrup. I had the barbacoa tacos after and it was a proper taco worthy of the name. The heirloom tortilla and the flavorful barbacoa was a perfect way to end the mea.
This is a place where I would be very happy to take my family as it is so nice to see a restaurant shine when sharing their heart and soul through the art of cuisine…
