Din Tai Fung

Freezing temperatures hitting NYC for the past 2 weeks coupled with snow or heavy rain. Sometimes nearing the end of winter here really makes the people want to leave the house less and less but if there is 1 excellent reason to brave the freezing temperatures it's Xiao Long Bao. The popular soup dumplings are quite a hit here in Din Tai Fung. They specialize in a smaller version of the accustomed Bao that seems to just be the right formula.
Next on my menu for the day was the beef noodle soup which had a nice kick to it. The warm broth was perfect for this chilly day and the noodles were the perfect match for the beef tendons. Shrimp and pork shu mai also accompanied this dish as after all I am from the Philippines and this is our favorite dumpling.
Lunch ended with the chocolate mochi paired with the sea salt cream on the side which was to die for. The dessert made the meal even extra more special. Can’t wait to come back and try the fried rice next.
Until the next adventure… #kulinaryatravels will be back for more next week…
