Petite Cerise
It's my last day in DC and I only have a few more hours left before I head back to NY but I still have a couple of hours left and that is more than enough time to still grab a meal. Breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day and we should never take it lightly. Ths struggle is always to find a place that is open thst serves more than coffee during the early hours of the morning. Luckily that my friend recommended we try out Petite Cerise which is quite new to the DC food scene.
Their cafe opens at 8 am and aside from selling viennoiserie they also have a few other freshly baked items. I started my meal with a cup of matcha of course as it's been 6 years now since I've stopped drinking coffee. The cup of matcha was excellent and it paired well with their breakfast sandwich. The brioche was freshly baked and the fried egg and bacon sandwich went well along with the toasted sesame seeds. The beignets were to die for, and mind you this is not an easy pastry to execute.
Soft and fluffy, I’ll be dreaming of these beignets until I make it back here… #kulinaryatravels will be back for more next week…
