Purple Patch

Purple Patch

It's October once again and for many people this signifies the start of Autumn where the rain pours and the jackets come out. That is completely true but for us coming from the Philippines, this also symbolizes the start of Filipino American History Month Celebration. Philippine culture has gone so much forward in the mainstream, during this past decade or so that it’s nice to be recognized culturally. Proud Filipinos from all over the country flock here to DC to unite and celebrate our proud country’s heritage and culture.

There is no better host of this yearly event than Chef Patrice of Purple Patch. She has been an outstanding representative of our country here in the DC area for quite some time now and Purple Patch for many is the place to be for all things Filipino. Was so happy to see familiar faces when I arrived and the food was amazing as always. Pancit bihon, lumpia shanghai and pork barbecue skewers is all you ever need for a Filipino party. Celebrity rapper EZ Mil was in attendance as well for this year’s event.

Looking forward to coming back next year already… #kulinaryatravels will be back for more next week…
